Casting News: Which ‘Vampire Diaries’ Character Will Tristin Mays Be Playing?

There’s been so much exciting Vampire Diaries buzz happening lately, we don’t know where to look first. Not only was the long-running series approved for a seventh season, but its spin-off The Originals, has also been renewed. And that’s not all; apparently we’ll be meeting the mysterious Sarah Salvatore — the real one, ahem ahem — sooner rather than later.

That being said, welcome to the family, Tristin Mays!

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the actress has landed the coveted role of Damon and Stefan Salvatore’s distant niece! This gorgeous starlet, who appears in Kevin Hart and Josh Gad’s comedy The Wedding Ringer, makes her official TVD debut in episode 6×11, “Woke Up with a Monster,” which airs January 22 on The CW.

As for her character, she’s described as a “bright and gifted student of photography, whose life is turned upside down as she unravels the mystery of her true family history.” Considering how Sarah’s related to a pair of studly-yet-tragic supernatural creatures — one who murdered her biological parents and one who accidentally leads Enzo right to her — there’s plenty of juicy material for Tristin to sink her teeth into.
